Product DescriptionAcetate buffer has a pH value of 4.0 and is made from a mixture of acetic acid (weak acid) and acetate ions (conjugated base). It is routinely used in DNA and RNA precipitation, and in the preparation of gel stains for protein gel electrophoresis. Experiments have shown that when added to food waste composting systems, sodium acetate may be effective at counteracting the adverse effects of organic acids produced in the composting process.It has a pKa value of 4.76 and a melting point of 323-329°C.For laboratory use only. Product DescriptionCitrate buffer solution has a 1.0M concentration at a pH of 6.0. Citrate is used as an anticoagulant, a biological buffer, and is often prepared for antigen retrieval of tissue samples. The solution is designed to break protein cross-links, unmasking antigens and epitopes in formalin-fixed and paraffin embedded tissue sections, resulting in enhanced stain intensity of antibodies. Sorensen's Phosphate Buffer is also know as phosphate mixed sodium salts. The osmolarity of a 0.1 M at a pH 7.2 is 226 mosmols; with the addition of 0.18 M of sucrose to the solution, the osmolarity raises to 425 mosmols. Maximum shelf life after receipt is 3 months.
